Brown Estate Winery: An American Dream

This week we are featuring the Brown Estate of Napa Valley, a Black-owned winery established by a family who was destined to achieve the American Dream.

Coming from humble beginnings in 1980, The Browns purchased deserted land in Napa Valley, reviving it to become a thriving business of selling grapes to local wine makers, eventually to be passed on to their kin and future generations. By the mid 1990s, the children of the Brown family sought the opportunity to produce and sale their own wines, making this the first and only Black-owned estate winery in Napa Valley. Their wine collection features a select variety of delectable wines. From a fresh, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc to a bold, fruity Merlot, these wines are sold online at prices ranging from $40 – $125 per bottle. In addition to running their winery, The Browns have expanding their business to include the Brown Downtown Tasting Room, where you can enjoy wine flights, cheese platters, wine pairings, and more in the heart of downtown Napa.
